Internship: Extension Assistant

Join Tamu Tamu as an Extension Intern and gain hands-on experience in customer engagement, trainings and relationship building with stakeholders, and agribusiness sales. You'll work closely with our Revenue Operations team across commercial activities that connect with farmers and our Extension Officer - one of Tanzania's top apple experts.
Day-to-day activities will include supporting our Extension Officer in bringing technical knowledge to farmers across Tanzania. You will help to take meticulous records of trainings and sales, build relationships with customers for sales, and attend farm or community visits.
Success in this role means:
- Assisting with sales administration, including meticulous record keeping such as customer detail entry, order entry, payment tracking, and delivery coordination
- Helping to manage records in the company's CRM and ERP system (Odoo)
- Working with the team to prepare orders, pack products, and organise transport
- Supporting the team with field market research, customer follow-up, and reporting
- Demonstrating initiative and teamwork in the field while handling competing priorities
What You'll Do:
- Assist in conducting farm training sessions and demonstrations
- Visit farms to monitor management practices and make sales by building relationships
- Record field data using digital tools or forms
- Provide first-level feedback and escalate technical challenges
- Support the Extension Officer in community meetings, trainings, and sessions with additional record keeping or facilitation
The internship is suited to candidates who are organised, eager to learn, and excellent communicators. Interns who demonstrate care, integrity, curiosity, and joy, along with customer focus and problem-solving skills, may be considered for permanent employment in a role suited to their goals and capacities.
Requirements
- Recent graduate in Agriculture, Animal Science, Business, or related field
- Excellent Microsoft 365 skills
- Strong interpersonal and observation skills
- Comfortable travelling and working with farmers
- Tanzanian nationality
- Strong communication in English and Swahili
Advantage for
- Prior internship or experience in a farming, sales or customer care role
